Sharp's first computer, sold as a kit: the screen, keyboard and cassette deck in one white case, with no BASIC in ROM at all — the language loads from tape, which meant Sharp's machines could run several. That "clean computer" approach is the family's distinguishing idea and it makes the MZ line unusually flexible for its date.
