The first PS/1: an all-in-one 286 with the power supply in the monitor, sold in high-street shops with software in ROM and a modem fitted, aimed at the home buyer IBM had failed to reach with the PCjr. Simple, sealed, and unexpandable by design. The monitor is part of the machine, so a complete one matters.
