The Japanese home computer as arcade machine: twin 68000-era architecture built to run Capcom and Konami conversions that are, in several cases, better than the coin-op originals. Manga-styled tower case in two halves, 65,536 colours, and the machine Final Fantasy and Metal Gear were developed on. Legendary, and expensive — the power supplies fail without exception.
