The first commercial computer with a graphical interface, a mouse and protected memory, and a spectacular failure at ten thousand dollars. Almost all unsold stock was buried in a Utah landfill, which is why survivors are among the most valuable machines in computing. Its Twiggy drives were replaced by Sony 3.5-inch units on the Lisa 2, and its ideas went straight into the Macintosh that killed it.
