The cost-reduced 128D: a plastic case, no fan, and a revised board. Cheaper to make and quieter, and by some way the most common of the two-drive 128s in America. The missing fan is the reason to keep an eye on temperatures, and the plastic case is the reason the metal one is more sought after.
