The machine that nearly became the BBC Micro: developed at Newbury Labs and a serious contender for the BBC contract before Acorn won it. A single-line vacuum-fluorescent display on the AD model, CP/M capability, and a design aimed at being expanded rather than played with. Historically interesting for the contract it lost.
