The Mega Drive's CD-ROM half: a second 68000, more memory, PCM audio and hardware scaling and rotation wrapped around a single-speed optical drive. It helped teach console games the language of intros and full-motion video, for better and worse. Model 1 units are handsome and fragile; Model 2 is the practical one.
